hello hello! Happy (day before) Thanksgiving!
If you've been here before, you may have noticed that i'm not much of a personal writings/sharing deep thoughts type of gal, at least not here. (i also don't really believe in capital letters, but that's another story...)
if you have been here before, you probably understand that i think of this space as a little sketchbook of ideas and inspirations and news to share rather than a place with lots of writing. sometimes i wish i could pour my heart out to you all, but that is just not me. with that said... i have a bit more than usual to say today!
i just wanted to take the time today, the day before Thanksgiving, to let you know that i am so very thankful for all of you out there... this blog has brought me so much this past year and i wanted to let you know that i really couldn't have gotten this far without you. in fact, i kinda gave up at first, i didn't really think anyone out there besides my sister would be reading the stuff i had to say. i was pleasantly surprised to find out that i was wrong about that. you are out there and you are visiting this space and i thank you for that. it truly keeps me going. it's really a special thing, this relationship we have. me and you. i may not know you, and you don't really know me, but it's been really nice sharing with you. i am not always good at replying to comments or following through when i've been tagged (sorry), but i truly from the bottom of my heart i thank you for keeping me here. every comment and contact means so much, i love hearing from you~ you continue inspire and encourage. i started out blogging because i thought it would be a good excercise in making and sharing new work, but it's been so much more than that. i still can't believe some of the wonderful things that have happened due to this little place.
*how could i have imagined that many many paths for my career would open up due to this silly little blog?
i celebrated my 100th sale in my etsy shop this evening... i can't quite believe it. it may seem like a little milestone, as I know that there are some etsians with sales in the thousands, but I am very proud of myself and all the hard work that has gone into everything I've done to get
the shop up and running. It began back in March, and I started it as a way to be in control of my own business and have more of a presence online. I am so happy I took the chance. It's allowed me to feel connected and appreciated in so many ways.
***SO! with all of that being said, I've decided to do my very first giveaway as a way to really say THANK YOU!!!***

ReplyDeleteI just wanted to tell you that I took my little wooden house to my weekly knit and natter group this morning to show it off, it was passed around and very much admired. I am still head over heels for it. Congratulations on 100 sales too, that is an amazing achievement whichever way you look at it.

I am a fellow etsian and I am a big fan. I discoverd your art through another blog link. I love your use of color and arrangment of paper. It creates a real intimate world for the viewer. I am thankful that all indie artists are able to share their work online. This allows so many to be inspired and feel that in this big massive world we can still connect.
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful for ofcourse my family but also to everyone who has the strengh to be the best person they can be despite challenge and pain.... to approach each day with the hope of possibility.....
Sarah, I have loved your work ever since I came across it while blog hopping. I also tend to show your magazine spots to many people, saying isn't this the coolest stuff. To me, your colors, and atmospheric style feel like happy childhood memories, floating through your mind. Or I guess now that I'm older, memories of my kids childhoods, as we'd like them to remember them once the daily stress is forgotten! Thanks for the thoughts, and the beauty, and congratulations on the sales. Wondering if maybe there is a chance that a little brown bunny might make it into a picture someday?
ReplyDeleteAttic 24 brought me to your blog and I fell in love. Your art is fantastic and beautiful and everything I love, love. Thank you for sharing such wonderful inspiration!

I was trying to think about how I found you (I've been reading for awhile) and I think it was probably through poppytalk or decor8. Those two blogs are no longer on my feed but you're still here!

ReplyDeleteGo on!
hello! i came to your blog today all because of organizing! i was cleaning off the corner of my worktable--- a long-overdue pile of accumulated "save this" papers and books. i wasn't able to attend the squam workshops, but i did scoot up for vendor nite. your little business card fluttered out of my stack, and i sat down to take a break and followed the fluttering card to your site. ;)
ReplyDeletei have to say, your journey is an inspiring one, and i will be back to peek at what is next. i find it downright exciting to read what your blog has brought to you, as i am just now taking time to start one of my own. i don't know where it will lead, but it's a pull toward creative connecting that just can't be ignored! i'm thankful for organization that leads to inspiration, i'm thankful to have visited YOU!
well, I keep running into you everywhere, so i figured i'd check out your blog. saw you thru penelope from squam, cloth paper scissors and i am attending second storie tomorrow. you have beautiful work and live in one of my favorite places.and i don't like CAPS either.

ReplyDeleteTara :o)
I found your artwork and blog through blog surfing. The soft colors and the bits of ephemera make your artwork sing for me. I am happy for you that your business is growing through articles and Etsy. You deserve it! Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog through your artwork itself!! I first saw your original peices at the dragonfly gallery on mv and, since I was living on the island year round at the time, I little extra money to spend on art! but I liked it so much I remembered your name and was so excited when I saw your blog and work featured on poppytalk (I think it was poppytalk...) and am getting closer to collecting one of your works and can keep an eye out for that perfect peice!
ReplyDeletethanks! v
Sarah-
ReplyDeleteI discovered you through your features in Cloth Paper Scissors, and I'm so glad I did. I'm so thankful for artists like you who offer inspiration and reassurance to those of us just starting out. Your generosity is appreciated!

I first came to your blog from a link on http://sykossa.blogspot.com/.
ReplyDeleteThen I checked out your Etsy store and fell in love.
I believe I saw your beautiful work first on another blog and have been returning ever since. I had you dig out a print just for me...and still hope to get an original someday! Your work is always an inspiration, especially when I need a boost before I begin my paintings.
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a wonderful show!
hi sarah: i've been a quiet watching of you talent for a while, you evoke that reaction out of me. i am always entranced by your soft & tender work, (though it's message stirs up my soul and causes much reaction) you have a way with simplicity. in a loud word you are surely a bird with a beautiful song. many many applauses for your wonderful sales and talent. hoping it leads you along a journey that lets you live from that place everyday.
ReplyDeleteall the best,
stephanie
Hi, Sarah! I first discovered your work through Etsy and bookmarked you as a favorite. Recently I ran across the article in CPS and recognized your work from the CPS Studio issue and finally put 2 and 2 and 2 together and visited your blog. I'm fascinated by your unique style and love your use of color. Today I'm thankful for home. We've been out of town for the holiday and, no matter how much fun you have, it is always so good to be home--and get back to creating again! Thanks for the fun giveaway!
