happy 2010!

may

i'm so happy with how these new little calendars turned out! hope you like them too! (see more images/info here)

***update! calendar is NOW up on etsy! thanks for your interest! here they are in my shop!***

i'll also have these little calendars for sale this coming sunday when i'll be at the Bazaar Bizarre in Boston! click on over to their site for the vendor list and directions... i'm so excited, it looks like quite a show! i'll have to force myself to stay behind my table and not go shopping... oh, but it's going to be difficult, so many amazing vendors will be there! i've heard that there is sometimes a line out the door and down the street, so i hope that it will be a wonderful day to shop handmade for the holidays!

if i don't see you this weekend, you could enter to win a calendar right here on the blog! remember when i said that a wee celebration was to be had? well, it's about that time of year for a giveaway, and i thought this little calendar could be the perfect thing. here's the deal: just write a comment (on this post) about what you like about this time of year... just a little something, such as your favorite traditions or favorite holiday treat... i'll choose the winner next week, so be sure to have your comment in by next wednesday, december 9th at noon eastern time. i'll announce the winner that afternoon, so you'll have to check back to see if you won! (remember, if you don't leave your contact/blog/email with your comment i won't be able to get in touch with you!)

looking forward to hearing from you and maybe seeing some of you in Boston this Sunday!

  1. HI Sarah! These are so cute! Love it.

This time of year I like because it cools down and I get to wear my sweaters and cozy up with my blanket.
I better get used to it, since I am up here in north Canada with the snow! :)

  3. The calendars are beautiful! Will you be offering them for sale online?

Christmas time. I love the lights the most. Turning out all the lights but the Christmas tree makes me happy. Hot cocoa, Christmas music. Those are my favs.

  4. I have loved getting up my Christmas decorations and buying a tree for the first time since being married. I also put together our advent calendar items a few days ago.

  5. These calendars are adorable!

I love when it snows and I am sort of locked in for the day. I seem to get more creative things accomplished and I have no desire to be out in the yard or garden. Today it snowed and it was only 13 degrees. The fire crackles, the soup bubbles and I shop on line for handmade goodies. Hey, Thanks for this great giveaway!I'm new to your site, found you on Flickr. Good Luck everyone, especially me :)

  6. I would be thrilled to win one of your cute little calendars. I would give it to my sister (as much as I would want to keep it for myself, but it is the season of giving, afterall!) Which brings me to my favorite part of this season: giving--to the man in red ringing the bell outside the grocery store, to the box of Toys for Tots, I love the way so many give so much of themselves at this time of year. Thanks for giving your art away!

  7. I love the change in seasons; here in california it doesn't snow but all the leaves change colors and fall of the tree and the crisp air in the morning makes you take a deep breath in. It's very refreshing.

    ps. love the calendars :)

  8. These are beautiful! I miss Boston at Christmas time - all the white twinkly lights...

I love many many things about Christmas, but one big thing is presents! I love getting, but i also love giving them...especially when I've made it and I know it's the right thing for the right person!

  9. I like how the sun shines into my studio on these cold Decembers mornings. It doesn't last long, but for a few minutes, it makes me happy.

  10. I'm in California so, for me, this time of year is a chance to indulge in all sort of "exotic" sights; such as rain and clouds and frost and mist, and logs burning in my fireplace...It's such a welcome change!

  16. This time of year I love the feeling of peace in nature that comes with the soft covering of the first snow. So,let it snow. let it snow, let it snow!

  19. Oh, the calendar is so pretty... Thanks for offering the chance to win one!!

My favorite treat is a Spanish sweet called "turron". Its main ingredient is almond, but there are a lot of different flavors, and my favorite is crispy chocolate. I haven't had any yet (a bit soon), but the supermarkets are already carrying lots of different brands and types... I think maybe tomorrow I might have my first turron this year :-)

  28. Oh they're adorable!

I love how it gets cold this time of year here in Houston. It usually last about 3 months but I love it! The other 9 months I hate it because it's so freakin' hot! Unbearable I tell you.

That board really gets me to thinking about how I want to become a teacher. Decisions decisions.
